Never leave Google Classroom to join your Google Meet

You can now have a Meet link right at the top of your Google Classroom for easy access for you and your students.  The link can be copied and shared in posts and calendar invites:


First, Turn On the Class Meet link in Settings

 

Next, Find the General Settings Section




Then, click the Generate Meet Link Button at the bottom




When you do this a Class Meet Link will automatically be generated





When you toggle the link to be visible to students a Meet icon will appear at the top in the banner at the top of the Stream tab in Google Classroom.

You can copy this link in settings








or by right-clicking on the icon in the Class Stream



You can use this link in a Googe Classroom Post:



Or you can add the link to Google Calendar by replacing the Google Hangouts link made when you click add Video Conferencing to your Calendar event.


Make a New Event and add conferencing.





Choose Hangouts Meet and click the drop-down arrow next to your Meet link.



Then click on the Edit Pencil next to the Meeting ID link



Then Paste the Meet Link from your Google Classroom



Now you can invite students to the meeting via a Google Classroom.  An easy way to get all the students from your class is to use the People tab, export all names to an email, copy the email addresses, and then add them in the Google Calendar Invite Participants tab.






If Students try to enter the session before the teacher, they will see this message:
