How do I link Twitter on my website so I get more followers?

An email came in today from a teacher asking:

After thinking about all the possible solutions, I offer this solution:

HOW TO MANY ANY IMAGE CLICKABLE

This method works in Google GMail, Sites, Docs, Drawings, et al.

The process is quite simple and the steps are easy to follow.  You will need a the URL of the website you would like to link the image to.  Text can also be linked.

Copy the link of your Twitter profile page.  Here is my profile link on Twitter:

Now find or create an image that your want to use.  If you are using one from the internet be aware of the usage rights and be sure to give the author credit.  For our purposes we will be using a Twitter button (found here: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2794/4233520483_eb85d03abe_o.png).

This image is a .png image.  We use .png because they have transparent backgrounds so there is no framing box around the image.

Now highlight the image the same way you would select text and click the link button

and put in the URL of the twitter profile in the box provided.

The image below is a final example.  On an email it shows up as Go to Link, but if you do this process on a website, it will make it clickable.

Let me know if you have questions.
