Sometimes new isn't better... Especially if it PowerTeacher Pro

Hey Teacher Peeps:  

PowerSchool is back.... Hold for applause...   

The switch to the old version of powerschool happened this morning.  Unfortunately, none of your grades are there.  I am so sorry for this.  I know this creates some extra hours of work for you.  I feel terrible about all of this.

But we are back to a gradebook system that WORKS and that provides the necessary data and reports that we need to effectively run our classrooms and school.

A few things to note:
  • You cannot use a ChromeBook for the old version, you need a PC or Mac.
  • The PowerTeacher Pro Link is still found in the left side navigation pane... don't use it.
  • To LAUNCH PowerTeacher:
    • Choose the down arrow next to the Launch button towards the lower part of your screen and choose INSTALLER like in the pic below.
  •   
    • Once you click that button, a program file will download to your computer.  Click that downloaded file and the Installer will launch let it run and say yes or agree to whatever it wants (let it lull you to sleep... succumb)
    • Now, click the launch button in the left side navigation pane 
    • Once you click that button, a program file will download to your computer.  Click that downloaded file and PowerTeacher will begin to launch.

Never leave Google Classroom to join your Google Meet

You can now have a Meet link right at the top of your Google Classroom for easy access for you and your students.  The link can be copied and shared in posts and calendar invites: First, Turn On the Class Meet link in Settings   Next, Find the General Settings Section Then, click the Generate Meet Link Button at the bottom When you do this a Class Meet Link will automatically be generated When you toggle the link to be visible to students a Meet icon will appear at the top in the  banner at the top of the Stream tab in Google Classroom. and of the   Classwork tab page in Google Classroom You can copy this link in settings or by right-clicking on the icon in the Class Stream You can use this link in a Googe Classroom Post: Or you can add the link to Google Calendar by replacing the Google Hangouts link made when you click add Video Conferencing to your Calendar event. NYT The Daily 360

NYT Daily 360 Virtual Reality and 360 images and videos are fast becoming learning tools in a tech enriched classroom.  Many companies have 360 content on their websites or uploaded to YouTube.  The New York Times saw the potential for 360 video to add depth to the stories they cover.  Enter the  NYT Daily 360 The Daily 360 is a vehicle teachers can use to bring students into the subjects and places discussed in literature and textbooks.  Using phones, tablets, or computers, students can look around immersive videos that puts learners at the center of the scene and allows them to look left, right, up, down and even behind.  These videos often come with a voiceover and text graphics offering more details and insights.
